Cancellation Policy

No statutory right of withdrawal for accommodation contracts with fixed dates

By booking a holiday apartment for a specific arrival and departure date, you enter into a contract for accommodation services at a defined time.

According to German law (§ 312g para. 2 no. 9 BGB), there is no statutory right of withdrawal for such contracts.

This means that your booking cannot simply be revoked. Instead, the agreed cancellation conditions listed below apply.

We strongly recommend purchasing travel cancellation insurance.

General Terms & Conditions

for the rental of holiday apartments at Schloss Hilbringen

1. Scope

These Terms & Conditions apply to contracts regarding the temporary rental of holiday apartments for accommodation purposes, as well as all additional services provided by the operator.

Subletting or use of the apartment for purposes other than accommodation requires prior written consent.

2. Booking & Confirmation

Booking requests can be submitted through our booking inquiry form, by e-mail or by telephone.

Once availability is confirmed, you will receive a written booking confirmation and invoice.

The reservation becomes legally binding after receipt of the booking confirmation and payment of the deposit.

3. Payment Conditions

A deposit of 20% of the total amount is due immediately after booking confirmation.

The remaining balance must be paid no later than 14 days before arrival.

For short-notice bookings, the full amount is due immediately.

Bank transfer fees and international transaction costs must be fully borne by the guest.

4. Arrival & Departure

Check-in is available from 3:00 PM. Standard arrival time is between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM.

Check-out must take place by 10:00 AM on the day of departure.

Please contact us 3–5 days before arrival to arrange key handover.

5. Apartments & Inventory

The apartments are handed over in a clean and proper condition with complete inventory.

Guests are liable for damages caused during their stay, including damages to furniture, flooring, equipment or lost keys.

Replacement of a cylinder lock and keys may be charged at €150.

Rearranging furniture, especially beds, is not permitted.

6. Dogs & Pets

Dogs are permitted upon request in the apartments “Jean Huart” and “de Maurice”.

Only small and well-behaved breeds are accepted.

A fee of €10 per night applies, with a maximum charge of €50 per stay.

Unauthorized pets may result in an additional cleaning fee of up to €100.

7. Use of the Apartments

The apartments may only be used by the persons stated in the booking.

Subletting or transfer to third parties is prohibited.

In case of severe violation of the house rules or non-payment, the operator reserves the right to terminate the stay immediately.

8. Cancellation Conditions

Cancellations must always be made in writing.

The following cancellation fees apply:

• Up to 30 days before arrival: free of charge
• 29–14 days before arrival: 30% of total price
• 13–7 days before arrival: 50% of total price
• 6 days or less before arrival / no-show: 90% of total price

If the apartment can be re-rented, only a processing fee of 10% of the travel price will be charged.

We strongly recommend travel cancellation insurance.

9. Cancellation by the Operator

In cases of force majeure, unforeseen circumstances, illness, accidents or damages to the property, the operator may cancel the booking.

Liability is limited to the refund of payments already made.

10. Liability

The operator is liable within the framework of legal obligations for the proper provision of the rental property.

Liability for interruptions of water, electricity, internet or events caused by force majeure is excluded.

11. Wi-Fi Usage

Free guest Wi-Fi is available within the apartments.

Guests are responsible for lawful use of the internet connection.

Illegal downloads, copyright infringements, spam distribution or unlawful activities are strictly prohibited.

The operator assumes no liability for damages to guests’ devices caused by internet usage.

12. House Rules

Guests are required to observe the house rules.

• Quiet hours apply from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• All apartments are strictly non-smoking
• Fireplaces may not be used
• Use of the swimming pool is at your own risk
• Parents are responsible for their children
• Parking is available free of charge in limited quantity

Smoking violations may result in additional cleaning fees of up to €100.

Unauthorized use of fireplaces may result in fees up to €500.

13. Written Form

No verbal agreements exist outside these Terms & Conditions.

By making a booking, guests accept these Terms & Conditions.

14. Severability Clause

Should any provision of these Terms & Conditions become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.

15. Jurisdiction

The place of jurisdiction is Merzig, Germany.

The company does not participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
